Sexual Health & Youth (SHY) Project

Burnet is working with headspace, Central West Gippsland to increase the sexual health knowledge of young people aged between 15 and 25 years old who live in Latrobe City or Baw Baw Shire.

Young people in Australia are at higher risk of contracting an STI than ever before. For example, 80 per cent of chlamydia cases are among 15-29 year olds.

The project aims to increase the sexual health knowledge of young people aged between 15 and 25 years old who live in Latrobe City or Baw Baw Shire.

2012-2014

Burnet is working with headspace, Central West Gippsland on this project.

Using text messages, the headspace Facebook page and an online survey, the project hopes to encourage young people to seek sexual health information and make positive choices in relationships.
