Background
Tanya Perrin, a seasoned professional with over 23 years of experience, has been at the forefront of managing and coordinating childhood, adolescent and adult immunisation projects in state and local government in Victoria.
Her leadership has been instrumental in several key immunisation projects, including 'Vaccinating Gen Z', which informed and educated students and parents in the Victorian School-Based Vaccination Program. She then led a project to help increase vaccination coverage of Indigenous Australians and became the author of a children's storybook, 'A Yarn About Germs', distributed Australia-wide and translated into two Indigenous languages.
Tanya was the Project Manager for the Program for Refugee Immunisation Monitoring and Education (PRIME), a Department of Health, Victoria initiative from 2017 to 2022. Tanya also headed a project to increase vaccination coverage in multicultural communities against COVID-19 during the pandemic.
Tanya's work has dramatically increased vaccination coverage and improved health outcomes for at-risk communities. Most recently, Tanya was Project Coordinator living in the Solomon Islands under Gavi's Equitable Accelerator Funding for the National Centre of Immunisation and Research (NCIRS). Burnet successfully applied for further funding to extend and expand these activities in the Solomon Islands, which Tanya will continue coordinating until December 2025.
