Background
Kate is an infectious diseases physician who has been part of the Burnet since she undertook her PhD studies here in 2000-2004. Following that, Kate remained a clinician-researcher for several years, heading a small Burnet group investigating the neurological complications of HIV infection and the toxicity of HIV treatments.
Today Kate leaves the main work of research to others, but remains a proud Burnet supporter, and maintains a part-time appointment here as Staff Physician. She also works as a clinician (ID physician at Alfred Health) and in hospital governance (board director at Peter Mac).
