Document summary
The survey looked at how the COVID-19 pandemic affected the Darebin Muslim community, and what their needs were as they recovered from the pandemic.
Participants said they had trouble accessing health services, and community centers. They struggled to engage with the community.
Their main worries were mental health, staying connected with other people, the education of their children and financial issues. Some examples included the increasing cost of living, losing jobs, and the need for training.
Most participants wanted clear and honest information. They wanted this information to be easy to find, and to be shared by a leader or professional that the community trusts.
The survey was shared with the help of our partners:
- The Australian Multicultural Foundation

- The Islamic Museum of Australia.
